About the Show

Hosted by FOX Sports Presenter Lee Furlong, CRICKET SUPERSTAR is a new reality series following 15 of Australia’s up and coming young male cricketers as they live together in a state-of-the-art mansion in Brisbane and are given a taste of a professional cricketer’s lifestyle.

Each week, a carefully devised cricket challenge will give these young sportsmen the opportunity to impress.  There will also be a weekly non-cricket challenge that will take the boys out of their comfort zone and reveal their all important characteristics.

Cameras are there to capture it all – will they deal with the pressure?  How will they cope with the rigours of daily training and match day situations?  And how will they handle the curve balls spun their way?

Judging the boys at every step is cricketing legend Allan Border.  A FOX Sports cricket commentator, Border is an Australian cricket hero having competed in over 150 test matches and amassed over 11,000 test runs.  Border’s wealth of experience on the field is matched only by his off-field talent in nurturing and instructing young players.

Also on board is former Australian test cricketer Graham Manou.  A newcomer to telvision, Manou played for (and captained) the South Australia Redbacks for 13 years, and wore the baggy green when he was called on to wicket keep during the 2009 Ashes tour.   Manou is responsible for mentoring the boys on their journey from backyard cricket ace to CRICKET SUPERSTAR.

And each week one of Australian cricket’s big names makes a guest appearance to give invaluable advice during a training session with the boys.  Guests include Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Andy Bichel, Justin Langer, Craig McDermott, Brett Lee, Ryan Harris, Ellyse Perry and Shane Watson.

At the end of each episode, the judging panel – led by Border – will dissect how our young superstars have performed on and off pitch, and eliminations will be made.  The winner of CRICKET SUPERSTAR will earn a rookie contract for the 2012-13 season, as well as a four month scholarship at the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane.
